Privacy Policy

Thank you for using the PDF Dark Mode extension. Your privacy is important to us, and this policy explains the permissions the extension requires and how they are used.

Permissions Used

activeTab

The activeTab permission is required to detect whether the currently active tab is displaying a PDF file. This allows the extension to apply the dark mode only when a PDF is detected, ensuring the extension works as intended without unnecessary access to other content.

scripting

The scripting permission is necessary for injecting the dark mode functionality into the PDF viewer. It enables the extension to dynamically apply the CSS and JavaScript needed to modify the appearance of the PDF.

Host Permissions

The extension requires host permissions to access URLs ending with .pdf, so it can apply dark mode to PDF files on any website. If you would like to apply dark mode to local PDFs (i.e., those opened from your file system), you will need to enable file URL access for this extension in your Chrome settings.

Data Collection

This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It operates entirely within your browser to modify the appearance of PDFs for improved readability.
